Some want a transparent state, others want transparent citizens. Transparency in the form of open standards, data, and source code supports both information technology and democracy. It enables informed and fact-based decisions and traceable processes. Unfortunately, however, transparency is lacking in all areas because technology and society are changing too quickly. No sooner has one begun to examine a problem more closely than new ideas and projects are already sprouting up elsewhere.
The team at the MRMCD Academy for Analytical Screening is therefore looking for diligent transparency researchers who have a keen eye for the problem areas of technology and our society and want to help us ensure full transparency. We welcome talks and workshops that deal with IT security, privacy, eGovernment, transparency, or anything else that moves people who are close to chaos.
